Why fish the Au Sable River?

Take a look at what Lefty Kreh wrote about the AuSable in his book Lefty’s Favorite Fly-Fishing Waters:

In the long and notable history of fly fishing in America, the legend and legacy of Michigan’s magnificent Au Sable River is perhaps second only to New York’s Beaverkill. Called La Belle Riviere Aux Sables by early French trappers, the Au Sable was being hailed as the country’s best trout fishery before the War Between the States.

You can enjoy a day fly fishing on the historic Au Sable in just a few short weeks. The 2007 Trout Opener is April 28th. Trophy Waters Fly Shop opens April 15th.
