Not much longer …..

The semi-official start of spring will be here on the 28th with the trout opener.  Right now the weather forecast looks pretty good, and hopefully the snow that hit us last week won’t return.  It does mean the water level on the Au Sable is high.  You can fish the Upper Au Sable now, including most of the South and North Branches and the Holy Waters, if you can’t wait until the 28th.  Most  are using streamers now, and nymphs are also a good choice.  Once the temperature stays warm dry flies will be a better choice, with the earlier varieties being the Hendrickson, stone flies,  black  Caddis,  and blue wing olives.  Call the shop for suggestions.
